Turn the Page...A diary, in general, is used for writing about each day's events in chronological order. What a great tool to use in writing memoirs or in generating ideas for fiction. Journals are defined as being used to write feelings and thoughts about events, changes in circumstances, and working through what life has dealt. (Also great for putting together memoirs and fiction!) The physical feel, weight and even the smell of the book can take us back to the day it was written. Combine that with the stains of food, maybe even crumbs stuck to the pages and the gloppy ink from the pens. While reading a decades-old diary filled with childhood entries, I remember gripping the pencil tightly--the eraser worn down to nothing--griping about my brothers who were getting on my last nerve or how I was grounded and life, at that point and time, was...unfair! Now, as an adult, my books are both diary and journal (and address book, book list, grocery list, etc). When I have no profound thoughts writin' events Turn the Page... by ~SonyaSpiral
